The Steve Nash Youth Basketball Program is designed primarily for boys and girls, ages 5 through 13. Steve Nash Youth Basketball programs are set up in various communities across British Columbia. Most groups have one practice session and one game per week. The program was developed in BC and now is offered by Provincial Associations throughout Canada.
The MRYB sends its Steve Nash Youth Basketball coaches to Basketball BC’s annual Youth Coaching Summit in the fall. Here, coaches learn about Canada Basketball’s Long-Term Athlete Development model, which focuses on learning fundamental movement skills and building overall motor skills, which are the building blocks of success in sport and life-long enjoyment of physical activity.
The Steve Nash Youth Basketball program is the brainchild of BC’s own NBA superstar, Steve Nash, and we are happy to be a part of it.
